  1. 1 A man, Mick Drury, living here, worked with four others, one day in Knockanure in a niggardly man's house. At dinner time, Drury said grace.
They got very hard, tough, hairy bacon for dinner, and Druru said:-
"O God above look down with love,
    And pity us poor four,
Give us Mate that we can ate,
    And take away the boar."
    2. Another time Drury was at dinner in a farmers house He got a small bit of meat, and a lot of gravy in a big plate. The man of the house asked Drury why wasn't he eating the meat. He said he was "waiting for the tide to go out, before he would dive in for it."
