    The rippling stream that meanders,
    To the ocean ebb and flow,
    crooned a sweeter melody,
    Long years ago

    The pasture fields were neater,
    Whether so ere we'd go,
    Even the heather bells were sweeter,
    Long years ago.

    How splendid shone the Autumn sun,
    It made our young hearts glow,
    And lovely was the gloaming,
    Long years ago.
