  1. Lines in admiration of Parnell, composed by Philip Danaher, Moyreen.
"I'll sing of the deeds of our chieftain and Leader
Whose fame and whose glory spans ocean and earth,
No cause wer owned a more stout hearted Leader,
Than Parnell who strikes for the land of his birth.
    2.
The cry to awaken from slavery numbers,
Full often was raised by great chieftains of yore,
But who of that fated, and glorious number,
Can equal our Parnell who leads us once more.
    3.
Spurning the tyrant's power, He waits the bright, happy hour,
That ushers the dawning of freedom in view,
But whilst his labours yet undone, We cheer our country's noble son,
And shout for old Erin, and Parnell the true.
    4. When our green Island, resumes her proud station,
Which history assigned her long ages ago,
I'll reveal she'll hold, as a free happy Nation,
And blessings for ever on Parnell bestow."
