    child should be fasting also. The breath of the gander cured the sickness in this way.
    Long ago lumps in the throat were cured by cow-dung. This was first heated in an old useless saucepan. It was then applied to the neck like a poultice. This was done several times. It either broke the lumps, or put them back. The patient was then relieved.
    A cure for a toothache, is to get a frog and put him into your mouth, and let him scream three times, and then let him out again. It is said, that if this is done the person would never suffer from a toothache. Another cure for this ailment is, if you were at a funeral, and when the grave is being dug up, if a tooth is got and sewn in a bit of a cloth, and put in the inside of your coat, such person will never get a toothache. There is yet another cure for a toothache. If you put a black-snail into your mouth, and let him go around the gum, it is said that
