    the name of Neville would ever be drowned in the waters of the Shannon.
    At Aughanish Point there is a big hole. It is now nearly full of mud. Long ago it is said that a terrible Giant lived there. He his said to have owned Foynes Island. Whenever he wanted cattle or food he swam across to Clare and drove the cows into the Shannon and swam across the river.
    One day, a treasure ship sailed up the Shannon and the giant captured it. He hid the treasure in the big hole. It is there yet and no one has ever been able to look for it.
