    We live not far from the Shannon.
    Years ago a man by the name of Neville was drawing seaweed from the shore on the Limerick side of the Shannon. He found a Mermaids cap and the Mermaid therefore had to go home with him. He hid the cap in a loft and she remained with him for seven years and was very happy. But one day when he was tidying the loft the cap fell from the loft to the kitchen floor. The mermaid picked it up and ran away to the shore, but before she went she told him that no man by
