  1. My Home District.
I live in the village of Shanagolden. There are twelve families in my district, and they live in thatch houses. There are not as much families living there now, as a great number immigrated to other countries. There isn't as much families living in the district as there were forty years ago.
At the time of the famine, families went to America to get work as there was no food or work in Ireland.
Many of the old houses are knocked and there are new ones instead.
Aidan O'Sullivan got this account from Patrick O'Sullivan,
    Dane Street,
    Shanagolden.
