- There are many traditions connected with birds. Old people say when the wild geese fly to the it is a sign that we are going to have fine weather, and when they fly towards the land it is the opposite. An old tradition is said that their was a fire in the north and it was the only fire that was in the world and men were sent to keep it lighting and on a certain night they fell asleep and the fire was going out. A robin came from her nest and put sticks in it, and it is said since then that all robins breasts are red.
