  1. There are two Holy Wells in this parish, Barrigone well and Knockpatrick well. Every St. Patrick's day there is a procession to the well on the top of Knockpatrick hill. On every 15th of August people visit the well at Barrigone. Many people who are blind, and who are dumb and crippled visit it. On one occasion a girl who was dumb visited the well and a couple of days after she recovered her speech.
