    There was a wedding in the district of Kilmoyley. Weddings at that time were of 3 days length - the gathering day, the wedding day, and the scattering day. On the night of the gathering day a man with a horse car and rail called into a farmer's house in the district and asked for a nights lodgings. The woman of the house refused as she was alone - the others were at the wedding. She told the traveller to go to the wedding and the wife's people would think he
