  1. One day St Patrick was coming down from Knockpatrick and there was a dog coming up the hill towards him. The dogs hair was standing up straight and he was going to bite St. Patrick.
    But St. Patrick raised his hand and rubbed the dog down once and the dog never bit him. Since then every dog's hair is lying flat.
