In Lisready there is some gold hidden in under a fort. It is said that there is a soldier and a cat minding it. They say that the soldier is there to cut off the head of the person that will try to get the gold, and the cat is there to lick up the blood.
In Tenekilla there is a fort and there is gold supposed to be hidden there. Some local people tried to get it in days gone by but they were frightened off. There is another fort at the back of O'Callaghan's house in Tenekilla. There is a cave in it and it is said that there is gold hidden under it.
