    If half-pennies were played for, this proved a very interesting game. But children generally play with buttons and pins, which they very industriously collected everywhere, even at school.
    People never started on a journey, or children were never sent to school for the first time on a Monday, as it was considered an unlucky day.
    Dressmakers never cut out any garments, nor tradesmen started any fresh work on a Saturday for the same reason. People always said that anything started on a Saturday would never be finished.
    Good Friday is looked upon in this district as a very fitting and lucky day, for planting the main crop of potatoes. If planted on that day, they say the crop will be plentiful and good.
