About the year 1888.
It refers to an old knight of Glin on St. Stephen's day. The first verse is forgotten.

We crossed the glen and hither again.
To that man called Tady O'Brien.
We met no other deceant man.
'Till we came to poor Mike O'Shea.

We went down then to the castle.
'Twas there our music grand did play.
This orange dog,
This low-live brute.
He told us "clear away".
The captain he advised his men.
His old "Fobrie" for to boo.
And to hell with all bad landlords.
For they are a low live crew.
