    Last night in my dream,
    I was far o'er the sea,
    To a spot in old Ireland
    That's dear unto me.
    I roamed its green hillsides,
    And heard the birds sing,
    And the lilt of their songs
    A sweet message brings.
    Of the days of my boyhood,
    So cheerful and gay,
    That I spend in Gleann Corbraighe
    So far, far, away.
    There is ruined Knockarana,
    On top of the hill,
    And the woods of the Desmonds
    Lie peaceful and still.
    There is lordly old Shannon
    Is all that they say,
