    A Prayer.
    I offer up those seven paters and aves, seven glorious paters in honour of the seven griefs and the seven joys of the Blessed Virgin Mary, begging and beseeching of the Almighty God, through her powerful intercession that she may be a true patron to me and take me under her holy protection. Begging of Jesus Christ grace to lead a holy life to fullfill the end of her creation the chief of which were pure humility and love of God above all things that he might never take me out of this world until I am fully fit and prepared to appear before the heavenly tribunal of justice with the Holy Oil stamped upon my soul and the Blessed Sacrament to strengthen me against the road and a real, perfect inclination of the will of God and the celestial light of Heaven to shine upon me and my dear Jesus to comfort me. That He may never give me a sudden and unprovided death free me from all evil temptations the World the Flesh and the Devil.
