    Riddles.

    1. Eliza, Elizabeth, Betty and Bess, went over the waters to seek a bird's nest. They found the bird's nest with four eggs in it. They took one each and left three.
    2. Too short, cut a bit off and 'twill be long enough.
    3. How would you make a tall man short?
    4. Ink ank under the bank. Ten drawing four.
    5. Why does a hen 'peg' a pot.
    6. In a hill there is a kiln, and in the kiln there is a cup, and in the cup there is a sup, and everyone must taste it.
    7. The king gave the queen a bottomless vessel. To put flesh and blood into it.
    8. As round as a ring. As deep as a cup, and all the king's men couldn't take it up.
    9. Four sticks standing. Four legs a lander. Two lockets. Two crockets and a wheel about.
