  1. Glendine
    Gleann doimhinn = the deep glen.
    It is a little valley, one side wooded, and the other side covered with furze. A little stream runs through it.
    Ballynatray
    Baile - na - Trágha = The townland of the strand. The Blackwater flows along and forms a boundary-line and so it got its name.
    Gleann-an-Aifrinn
    The glen of the Mass. Mass is said to have been celebrated in this little glen in Penal times.
    Raven's Rock
    So called, because long ago it was a great nesting place for ravens.
    Garrymore
    Garra Mór = The big garden. It is a large, uncultivated tract of land, wholly given to grazing, for cattle and sheep.
    Cherrymount
    At one time celebrated for the number of cherry-trees growing there.
    Knockanore
    Cnuic - an - Fóghmhair = The hill of the harvest.
    Carrigleagh
    Carraig - Liath = The grey rock.
    Carrigeen
    Carraigín = The little rock.
    Templemichael
    The temple of Michael. So called
