  1. Long ago the people were evicted and they went to Ballinvarrig to the huts. Then their cattle were taken off the land and put into the pound and when the people went for them next day they had to pay for their release. Knockmonlea and Ballykilty was called Ponsoby's estate. The Landlord of Ballyglassin was Ring and O Farrell in Kyle. At that time a man in the locality made a song about the Landlords.
