    ago a woman washed her feet and did not throw out the water. After a time the fairies came and they were going to [burn?] her. They came again the next night but the woman said the door was locked and she could not let them in so they asked the water she had washing her feet to let them in. The water was thrown out and it answered "I cannot let you in now because I am outside myself. Long ago the people made their own laces by saving the skins of eels and cutting them up into strips.
