  1. The game that we mostly play in the open air is "Soldiers". A crowd of small children would gather and one person would stand in front of them and say
Here come soldiers one by one
I came to court your daughter Jane.
    They would answer.-
My daughter Jane she is too young
To be controlled by any one.
The person in the front would say.
Be she young or be she old
For her beauty she must be sold.
    They would answer
Walk my kitchen walk my hall
Take the fairest girl of all.
She says - The fairest girl that I can see is -
    Come along with me.
The person she calls on goes out with her. They advance again until all of them are gone.
