    There are many old people in Cloyne who can tell stories in English and Irish namely Mr Canavan of Spittal Street, and Kate Cotter of Spittal Street.
    There were more houses in Cloyne long ago but many are now in ruins. About two-fifths of the land is boggy and the rest is very fertile. Many people went to America and other countries long ago
