  1. Saint Coleman's well is situated in the north-east corner of Glen Iris wood. A little wall is built around it to protect it from the cattle. Many people visit this well on the 24th of November. Some boys and I visited it last year. The well is under a big stone near an ash tree. There are five stones around it. It is the custom to kneel in front of each of these stones and say one Our Father one Hail Mary and one Glory be to the Father. This is to be done three times. On the stones near the well there are statues and on the tree there are Rosary beads and rags. Many people were cured when they drank the water of this spring. An eel sometimes inhabits this well.
    When Saint Coleman was building the round tower in Cloyne a woman asked him what he (was) doing up there so high. When he heard her speak he got a great
