  1. To the south of the Catholic Church, and quite adjacent, stands the ruined old school house.
    The four walls containing the apertures of the doors and windows are still intact. But the roof which is galvinized is in a bad condition.
    There were two departments in this school - up stairs and down stairs - The department down stairs was used by the boys, and the upper department by the girls.
    Steps which still stand lead from the ground outside to the girls' school. There were two teachers in the girls', school, whose names were Mrs. Tompson and her sister Mrs. Vaughan, also two in the boys' school whose names were Mr. G. OMahony and Mr. M. Bouge.
