    Haulbowline was transferred to the Irish Free State on 31st March 1923.

    Haulbowline was transferred to the Irish Free State on 31st March 1923.
    The first Irish Navy with headquarters here consisted of :
    12 Trawlers
    3 M. [?]
    1 Fishing Drifter
    The Tug "Dainty"
    The latter was leased to the Canadian Govt. in 1928 for towing from Montreal to Fort Churchill. She was later sold to the French Marine Dept.
