    Long ago the houses on the Great Island were of timber construction.

    On going hunting for rabbits, the first thing procured was a live crab. When the hunters met a rabbit hole a butt of a candle was lighted and placed on the crabs back. The crab was put at the mouth of the hole and made walk in.Very soon all the rabbits in the hole would come rushing out with fright into the waiting nets of (of) the hunters.
