  1. In olden times harvesting was very slow work as the corn had to be cut down with hooks. The man working the hook had to catch a bunch of corn with one hand and work the hook with the other so it was very slow work. But then the scythe came into force and the people thought it a great relief to them, so they worked with scythes for number of years.
    Then came the mowing machine and the farmer thought no more about the scythe or the hook
