  1. In my district (Castlehyde, Fermoy Parish, Co Cork) people believe in lucky and unlucky days.
Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays are unlucky days. Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays are lucky.
It is said to be unlucky for farmers to begin to cut their harvest on a Monday. It is also unlucky to make a grave on a Monday. People do not like to send their children to school for the first time on a Monday.
People say it is unlucky to get your hair cut on a Friday.
It is said that if a person died between Christmas Day and Little Christmas Day (Jan 6th) he would be sure to go to heaven.
