One day the priest was lying beside a rock taking a rest. His enemies led by OConnell were looking for him. After a long search they captured him and put him to death.
The field referred to is on the lands now owned by Mr Quinlan, Labbycally, Glanworth, Co Cork.

  2. In the townland of Ballinahoun, parish of Fermoy, Co Cork there is a rock in a field owned by Mr. E. Barry. We are told by the old people that mass was celebrated on this rock in the penal days. A priest named Fr. Coleman used to celebrate it unknown to the English soldiers and spies. The rock is now covered with briers and bushes. It resembles an earthern bank now with briers growing on it.
