    In the lands of Mr Roche, townland of Acres, Parish of Fermoy Co. Cork and Barony of Condon and Clangibbon is a field called the - "Blood field". It is said that in the Penal days a battle was fought in this field. A helmet and a sword were found by a man when ploughing it.
