    former years than they are now.
    There were about four ruined houses, but all traces have now disappeared.
    Many people went to America from this district and to other places in former years to earn a living
    The land is fairly good it is really a valley. There is not any great river but a stream which runs in a very winding course and at last joins the Funsheon, a tributary of the Blackwater.
    There is nothing of any interest in the townland. It is not wooded, as indeed the name "Scart" tells, but it is as you would expect, plentifully supplied with bushes.
