  1. Long ago there was a poor scholar in this district. One morning he went into a farmer's house for his breakfast. On the table was a large bowl with the following words written on it, "There is more at the other side." The people of the house not knowing how to read didn't know what was written on the bowl. The scholar then asked the farmer where he got the bowl he said he found it full of gold at the back of the hawthorn in the garden. The poor scholar went out into the garden and dug at the other side of the tree and found another crock of gold.
