  2. 1. A man with a white horse was supposed to have a cure for this. When children in a house had whooping cough, a parent or relative watched for a man having a white horse and addressed him thus "Man of the white horse, will you tell me what will cure the chin cough?" Anything the man suggested was supposed to be effective.
    2. Donkeys' milk given to children to drink cures the chin cough.
