  1. An Old Story
    Long long ago there lived a woman who had been married for five years but had no children. Her husband was a rough rude fellow and used often beat her because she had no children. But it happened that a son was born to her and he was so beautiful that the father often stayed at home to rock the cradle and to help his wife at the work. One day however as he rocked the cradle the child looked up suddenly at him and there was beard growing in his face. Then the father cried out. This is not our own child but a demon. You have put an evil spell on him. He struck her and beat her worse than before so that she roared aloud for help. Suddenly the whole place darkened and the thunder
