- (continued from previous page)The robin is supposed to have tried to pick the thorns out of our Saviour's head when He was dying on the cross. As he was doing this a drop of our Saviour's Blood is supposed to have fallen on his breast. Hence the red breast.
The swallow is supposed to have got his forked tail from a bite he got from a snake. One day he was sitting on a branch of a tree when a snake came behind him and bit him on the tail.- Collector
