  1. About 40 years ago a great snowfall occurred. The snow was about six feet deep & it remained for about four days. It is believed that people who attended a funeral travelled in a 'straight line' over fences & fields (?)

  2. There was a terrible snowstorm in 1888. The snow was 15 feet (?) high the snow nearly covered the houses & several lives were lost. It continued to fall for a day & a night. It remained on the ground for nearly a fortnight.

  3. Great drought periods: About 40 years ago there was a great drought period here & the Deel was nearly dry. The Creamery workers had to draw water from a well which belonged to Mr. William Broderick, Milford.

  4. Old Milford residents expected very severe weather ("St. Ben's Rout") about the Well Day (Tullylease). St Benjamin is Patron St. of Tullylease & Feb. 18th. is the Well Day.
