  1. There are a good number of foxes around Newtown parish He is the most cunning of all animals.
    One morning when my father was just getting up he heard all the noise in the hen-house outside. He went out straight away and found two hens dead and to his surprise he found the fox also dead as he thought. He then went in to tell the servant boy to bury him but when the boy went out the fox and one of the hens were gone. He was surprised and went in and told my father. They both went out in search of him but there was no trace of the fox.
