  1. There was a man buried last week in Shanballymore, named O Regan. In his youth he was a great weight-thrower. He used to throw the half hundred-weight over a bar sixteen feet high.
    There is a man living in (Newtown) Milford named O'Connor who is a great Marathon runner. That man was a very good runner and he beat many other good runners in the district. The last race he won was from Ráth Luirc Post Office to Milford Post Office a distance of six Irish miles and he did it in 38 eight minutes.
