    Most of the people get married in Shrove the time before Lent.

    Most of the people get married in Shrove the time before Lent. Before the couple are married some person makes what is called a match. It sometimes happens that the girl's intended does not meet her until the night before the marriage and then they settle their affairs.
    When the marriage day arrives his brother or his cousin stands with him and he is called the "Best Man". When the marriage is over some of the blackguards tie old buckets on to the motor car that the wedded couple are in and when they are going away the buckets hop off the road and all the crowd cheer. Then they go to his house and have a wedding feast. Then during the night they all go dancing and they have great feasting and merriment
