When Bill Hickey was in the army he had to be on patrol every second night.

When Bill Hickey was in the army he had to be on patrol every second night. One particular night as he was walking up and down near the dead house he heard a noise and he got nervous. He had his rifle with him and he said to himself that if he heard the noise again he would stand and look in.
He looked in and at the door he saw a white face staring out at him. He raised his gun and fired Off the thing went roaring but it was only a white donkey that had strayed into the dead house.
