  1. LOCAL HEROES
    A very strong man called Séan Mór Mahoney live in Castlewrixon. He pulled a load of hay up a hill when his horse failed. He used to carry a plough on his shoulder to the forge, where he often took the anvil with one hand and held it behind his back while the smith was looking around. It is related that he was able to throw the sledge farther than the famous William Murphy of Liscarroll.
