    Shrove. Many weddings in this locality on Shrove Tuesday.
    Matches. Farmer's marriages usually result of "matches". Man generally "introduces" match.
    Dowry. "Love Matches" becoming very common, as a rule same are convenient. Generally expected - about £800 "for place of 24 cows." Old couple in house get "ineng" and from £10 to £30, or more, yearly and room. This bargain fairly strictly adhered to.
