    In Milltown when Bruees Protestants [?] Milltown Castle men were working on R.C. Holy Day. Priest passed. Asked them if they were at Mass. They said No. "So by his favor he made horses stop and they were transfixed to spot by road-side unable to move. Men went to Mass. On return priest came out and let loose horses."
    John Mc Auliffe, The Hill, Newtown grand father of present [?] walked to Cork and back from Newtown in one day.
