  1. (continued from previous page)
There is Magner's castle as we heard in story
The finest building that ever was seen
And a field beyond it that the old people tell us
Where Magner built the gallows tree.

  2. One morning as I scacely did ramble
I went on the green fields to spy
The songbirds so merrily were singing,
I think it was early in July.
I first espied Magners old Castle
As the church bells commenced for to chime
What a beautiful spot for a ramble
Where the Katra flows down to Ardine.
    II
Just the lake where the swan and the wild duck
    Mid natures own charms dwell,
No spot can imprint in my memory
No pen can describe it as well.
As to view with the eye its pure crystal springs
And its low marshy banks so divine
And with natures own stand you can vein from the land
Where the Katra flows down to Ardine.
