I am living in the townland of Knockardsharrive it is in the Baroney of Duhallow, there is not much history attached to it.
There are seven houses and a population of about 33 people. There is a wood about 200 yards away from my house its acreage is 7 acres, and in that wood there is a Mass rock and also many ruins of old houses.
Knockardsharrive got its name from a high bitter hill the way to pronounce Knockardsharrive is Knock - árd - sharrive. O'Connell's and Cronin are the most popular names in this district
