  1. Marriages take place most frequently in Shrove in this district.
    The months of May and August and Monday, Wednesday and Friday are thought unlucky for marriages.
    Matches are made in this district. Money is given as a fortune with the girl getting married except she has a farm. Stock and goods are sometimes given if there is not enough of money to complete the whole fortune.
    My parents never heard of marriages taking place in houses.
    A wedding feast is general held on the wedding day.
