  1. My home is in the Townland of Lombardstown in the Parish of Kilshannig in the Barony of Duhallow. There are about twenty families in the townland and about sixty people. The name most common is Ring.
Most of the houses in the district are slated and are new.
A man named Captain Lombard lived in the house now owned by Mr. Smith and from him the townland got its name.
There are only a few old people in the townland and some of them can tell stories in English but none of them can speak Irish.
The houses were more numerous in olden times than they are now but there are no ruins to be seen.
Most of the land is good but some of it is wet and boggy.
