    A great number of herbs are used for local cures, namely Nettles are used for curing a sore throat. First the nettles are boiled and strained and the water in which they were boiled is used as a gargle.
    A pain in the head is cured by rubbing holy water to the forehead.
    Whooping cough is cured by giving the sufferer the ferret's leavings of milk to drink. The Dandelion is used for curing a bad stomach. It should be pulled early in the morning and cut up fine and infused like tea. It should be drank before breakfast. On the eve of Saint Bridgid's day a white cloth is put out on a tree and left out all night. Next day it is put a side carefully and during the year it is wrapped about the head to cure a headache.
