    There was a song composed by Tadhg Murohy of Kantusk. It was called "Newmarket Railway".

    There was a song composed by Tadhg Murphy of Kanturk. It was called "Newmarket Railway" The Kanturk people did not want the Newmarket as it would injure their town. The chorus is the only known nowadays -
    With Colonel Aldworth at our back.
    And Doctor Verling a man of rank.
    And Mr Langely of the bank.
    To guarantee the railway
