    that if the user of the water does not throw it out he is called by the fairies through the night to do so. Boots were made and repaired in the local towns Kanturk and Newmarket. There are eight shoemakers in each town. Clogs were made in Rossline wood long ago. They are worn in the winter time by some people, and all the year round by dairy-maids at work. Leather was tanned in Kanturk where the creamery stands at present.
